In 1790 Treuberg joined the 9th Dutch Infantry Regiment as an ensign . In 1793 he was seriously wounded during the siege of Maubeuge . He took part in Dutch service in 1794/95 in the First Coalition War against France and was promoted to lieutenant in the 2nd Dutch half-brigade. Since the Kingdom of Bavaria had joined the Rhine Confederation , von Treuberg was now involved on the French side in the wars of 1805, 1807 and 1809 against Austria and Prussia. In 1809 he became a lieutenant colonel and battalion commander. He took part in the Russian campaign in 1812 with the rank of colonel and made a contribution to the repatriation of the Bavarian troops. After Bavaria had changed fronts with the Treaty of Ried (October 8th), Treuberg took up the 1813 campaign against the French as commander of the 9th Infantry Regiment.

The fifth Allied Army Corps under General Graf von Wrede , to which Treuberg's regiment belonged, reached the Basel area before Christmas and besieged the fortresses of Hüningen and Belfort. He also sent departments to occupy the smaller fortified places in Upper Alsace. On December 26, 1813, Treuberg and the 1st Battalion of the 9th Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment, reinforced by small detachments of cavalry and artillery, took the Landskron fortress , which he had besieged since December 23. On January 10, 1814, after the commanding General Deroy was wounded, Treuberg took command of the Bavarian troops advancing on Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Dié-des-Vosges , and took these places.

On April 1, 1815, von Treuberg was appointed major general and brigadier. During the 1815 campaign he commanded the 2nd Brigade of the 2nd Infantry Division . In May 1829 he was appointed lieutenant general and commander of the 2nd Army Division and a year later that of the 4th Army Division .
