Friedrich von Wylich

Friedrich von Wylich (* 1706 ; † August 25, 1770 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and holder of the Order of the Black Eagle .

Life

family

His parents were Dietrich von Wylich (1640–1709) and his second wife Florentina Anna von Spaen (* 1660). He was married to Sophie Wilhemine Frederike von Kalckstein (* 1723; † April 16, 1755) since April 14, 1746 , she was the daughter of Christoph Wilhelm von Kalckstein . The couple had the following children:

Career

Von Wylich joined Infantry Regiment No. 15 in 1721 and became Premier Lieutenant in 1732. In the same year Crown Prince Friedrich became head of the regiment. Wylich was one of the officers who got an apartment in the royal Rheinsberg Castle . He was allowed to sit at the table of the future king and had generally confidential dealings with him. In 1740 he was appointed major and wing adjutant. In 1741 he became the commandant of a grenadier battalion from Regiments No. 26 (Kleist) and No. 23 (Sydow). On August 10, 1741, he occupied Wroclaw . In April 1742 he gave up the regiment and became a lieutenant colonel in the same year. In the Second Silesian War he received a grenadier battalion from Regiments No. 5 (Bonin) and No. 13 (Truchsess). On June 4, 1745 he became a colonel and adjutant general in November and major general on September 12, 1753. During the Seven Years' War in October 1756 he became chief of the former Saxon Infantry Regiment No. 2, later Infantry Regiment No. S51, which was formed from Saxons captured near Pirna. But it soon dissolved again. On September 9, 1756 Major General von Wylich reached Dresden with the advance guard of the King. He had to occupy this town with two battalions of regiment No. 47 (von Wietersheim), one battalion of regiment No. 41 (von Neuwied) and the grenadier battalion (von Wangenheim). Due to his services, the king used him on other occasions and made him lieutenant general in 1763. He also awarded him the Order of the Black Eagle in 1770 . Von Wylich died soon afterwards in August 1770 in Potsdam and was buried on the 28th in the town church there.
