The Friedrichshof is a residential area that belongs to the municipality of Obersulm in the Heilbronn district ( Baden-Württemberg ). In addition to the mansion that gave it its name, which was founded in 1799, the Friedrichshof now includes a specialist clinic for the rehabilitation of drug addicts and a branch of the Lichtenstern facility for the disabled .

geography

The Friedrichshof is around 350  m above Obersulm- Eichelberg on the edge of a small plateau that juts out from the Löwenstein Mountains over the Sulmtal and thus provides a good view of the valley to its end at Neckarsulm . The Friedrichshof is connected to the Eichelberg in the southwest via the 2109 district road. A road only released for residents connects the Waldhof to the east .

history

Friedrich von Weiler , the owner of the knightly towns of Eichelberg and Weiler , built the Friedrichshof in 1799 as a Maiereigut on forest and lake grounds and gave it his name. The farm consisted of the residential and two utility buildings and around 1860 served as a residence for a tenant and a forester. Even after the markings of Weiler and Eichelberg were separated around 1830 , the Friedrichshof initially continued to belong to the Weiler mark, although it was located in the middle of the Eichelberg mark, to which it was only assigned in 1849.

The von Weiler family remained the owners of the Friedrichshof until the 20th century. In 1962 the Nürtinger Samariterstiftung built a nursing home for old people with mental illnesses next to the farm, which had to be closed again in 1993/94. A wooded area next to the nursing home served him as a cemetery at times. Today the buildings of the former nursing home house a branch of the Lichtenstern facility for the disabled , which has been offering inpatient living for around 80 mentally handicapped residents and, since 2004, short-term living . The Friedrichshoffestival has been held here every year since 2003 , at which not only a band from residents but also well-known music groups perform and which attracts several hundred visitors.

The farm itself served first as a nursing home, then as a home for difficult-to-educate girls . Since November 1, 1979, a facility for the rehabilitation of drug addicts has been housed here and in other buildings that have since been built, which was initially supported by the Tübingen drug relief organization , today it operates as the Friedrichshof Clinic and is supported by the Baden-Württemberg State Association for Prevention and Rehabilitation . Over 3500 patients have been treated since then. The clinic with 48 employees, which offers places for 60 patients of both sexes for up to ten months of rehabilitation, is connected to a home for up to 10 children of the patients. The clinic's own organic nursery continues the agricultural tradition of the Friedrichshof.
