Dirty Deals is a German television film by Markus Sehr from 2018. It is the seventh episode of the Friesland television series .

action

The German fattening farms have problems handing over their manure to arable farms because the limited purchase capacities are already being used by Dutch farms. Holger Frerichs mediates such liquid manure deals, in addition to various other business activities. When he is found dead in the full manure pit of his parents' farm, many motives are conceivable: He made himself unpopular with the local fattening farms, he recently broke up with his girlfriend in favor of another, with whom there were also violent arguments, and he bought a very cheap maize chopper with the money he had borrowed , which he wanted to sell on for a profit - the matter doesn't seem particularly serious.

Henk Cassens and Süher Özlügül follow many leads, but they all run into the sand. After all, the main suspicion lies in the farmer Aiko Möldenbrok, who is facing ruin with the fattening farm he took over from his parents because he no longer has the opportunity to dispose of his manure and because he has already been noticed in the past through the use of force. He is completely at odds with his older brother Klaas. Both are cousins of Insa Scherzinger, who immediately starts the arduous task of relieving Aiko.

When it turns out that the corn chopper that Holger bought is only worth scrap because its engine ran without oil, the dealer, who seems to be in a relationship with Holger's new girlfriend, is also suspected. But this trail does not lead any further. Holger's stepfather Jochen is also convinced that Holger had enough technical expertise to never turn on such a defective machine, so the damage could only have occurred after the purchase.

The riddle is solved when Aiko Möldenbrok reveals his plan to renovate his business: He plans to build a biogas plant to utilize liquid manure for all businesses in the area. He wanted to finance it with the money that Holger's parents had from the sale of their farm. However, this money was temporarily made available to Holger by his mother to buy the maize chopper. For Klaas Möldenbrok, who deliberately wants to destroy his brother in order to then buy up his parents' business, to which he believes he has a right, this was a good opportunity to destroy the capital and thus prevent the construction of the biogas plant. When he drained the oil on the maize chopper he had bought and destroyed the engine by running dry, he was surprised by Holger and killed him.

The solution becomes clear to Jochen Frerichs at the same time as the police, and there is a showdown in a corn field, where Jochen shoots Klaas with a rifle, but is then overwhelmed by Klaas. The arriving police prevent Klaas from killing Jochen and arrest Klaas after a chase in the corn field.
