Frilinghoven is a district of the municipality of Waldfeucht in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Heinsberg . The Frilinghovener Bach rises on the northern edge of the village.
history
In 1147 Frilinghoven was first mentioned as Vrilenhove together with Brüggelchen. In 1277 the name Vrilinchovin is documented. The name can be interpreted as "Hof des Frilo" or "Hof einer Friling (= free)". In 1797 Frilinghoven belongs to Mairie Waldfeucht in the canton of Heinsberg in the Département de la Roer .
