Obspringen is an eastern part of the municipality of Waldfeucht in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Heinsberg . The place has a fire station and the youth home "Oase". The Kitschbach flows through Obspringen.

The Catholic Church of the Heart of Jesus was built from 1884 to 1897.

history

Obspringen was first mentioned in a document in 1170. The name means "on the springs". In 1911 the parish became its own rectorate. From 1935 the place belonged to the newly formed Office Waldfeucht. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Waldfeucht was formed from the office of Waldfeucht - except for Saeffelen. Obspringen was incorporated into the Waldfeucht community together with Braunsrath.
