Fritz-Carl Peus

Fritz-Carl Peus (born September 9, 1871 , † December 17, 1950 ) was a German lawyer. From April 15 to June 15, 1945 he was Lord Mayor of Münster .

After graduating from high school and studying law, he first went to the legal preparatory service. On May 17, 1898, he was admitted to the bar at the Münster District and Regional Court . Peus was a member of the Center Party and was elected to the city ​​council in 1905 . At the time of the Great Depression , between 1929 and 1933, he took over the position of city ​​councilor before he was removed from office by the National Socialists .

After the end of the Second World War, he became the first executive mayor of the city of Münster.
