Fritz Beckert

Fritz Beckert (born April 5, 1925 in Reichenhain ) is a German educational psychologist .

Life

Fritz Beckert was born on April 5, 1925 in Reichenhain near Chemnitz . From 1932 he attended elementary school and from 1936 to 1943 middle school . He then worked as part of the Reich Labor Service in the Wehrmacht . In 1945 he first became a teacher at the Chemnitz elementary school , and the following year also became its headmaster. In the period up to 1950 he also attended courses on psychology at the Institute for Teacher Training in Chemnitz (1953–1990: Karl-Marx-Stadt ). There he taught from 1952 to 1954 with a teaching position for educational psychology. In 1954 and 1955 he was also senior assistant at the Pedagogical Institute in Dresden and then until 1957 an aspirant at the German Central Pedagogical Institute in Berlin .

1958 doctorate in the University of Leipzig Beckert Doctor of Pedagogy. His dissertation is entitled Investigations into the perception of radio plays by children and young people. A contribution to the psychology of teaching materials in history lessons . Four years later his habilitation in educational psychology took place at the university. His post-doctoral thesis was TV game experience and personality. Attempt of a psychological-pedagogical foundation .

In 1964 Beckert left the Chemnitz Institute and in the following year became professor at the Technical University of Chemnitz and head of the educational and psychological institute. He also served as Vice Rector until 1970 . He gave guest lectures on mass communicative psychology in 1972 and the following year at the University of Film and Television Potsdam . Furthermore, since 1968 he was chairman of the city council of Karl-Marx-Stadt in the Kulturbund der DDR . He held this office until 1975.

In 1975 Beckert was appointed professor to the journalism section at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig . He taught there until 1990.
