Fritz Blankenhorn (singer)
Fritz Blankenhorn (born March 5, 1889 in Karlsruhe , † December 8, 1954 in Müllheim (Baden) ) was a German opera and operetta singer ( tenor ) and actor.
Life
He was u. a. engaged at the Großer Schauspielhaus Berlin and at the Meiningen Theater.
In Meiningen, Tosca with Agnes Wedekind and Fritz Blankenhorn was brilliantly reviewed.
He became particularly well-known for his role as Lieutenant von Hohenfels in the revue operetta Casanova (music by Ralph Benatzky , using the music by Johann Strauss (son) , text by Rudolf Schanzer and Ernst Welisch), which he took part in and with the Comedian Harmonists premiered on September 3, 1928 in the Großes Schauspielhaus Berlin. Fritz Blankenhorn played the same role in the 1928 film adaptation of Casanova . There is also a gramophone record for this performance.
