Fritz Ludwig Edmund Eichhorn (* 24. October 1870 in Krautheim (Jagst) ; † 10. March 1939 in Karlsruhe ) was a German forester , who is an advocate of forest net proceeds teachings merits in a friendly, stock silviculture practices acquired.

Eichhorn studied forestry at the Technical University of Karlsruhe from 1889 to 1893 . Here he joined the later Corps Hubertia Freiburg . In 1895 he received his doctorate in Munich with the thesis " Investigations on the wood of the red oak ". Eichhorn was the first to propose that the stand mass , regardless of the yield class and age, is a function of the stand height. This relationship was consolidated in the Eichhorn law named after him . With his extensive knowledge in the field of yield science , he made a significant contribution to the Baden forest management service of 1912. From 1907 he was active in the higher forest administration. He had to retire from 1928 because of a war-damaged heart condition. In 1923 he had already turned down a call to the University of Freiburg to succeed U. Müller. The main reason for this was, with high probability, his persistent resistance to the theories and practices of the theory of pure soil yield .
