Fritz Frey (moderator)
Fritz Frey (born December 27, 1958 in Rüsselsheim ) is a German journalist and as such editor-in-chief of television of Südwestrundfunk and moderator of the ARD political magazine Report Mainz .
biography
After studying German, art and media studies in Heidelberg and Marburg, Frey worked from 1990 to 1993 as a reporter for heute-journal at ZDF . He then worked until 1996 as an advisor to the ZDF editor-in-chief Klaus Bresser . In 1996 he switched to what was then Südwestfunk (SWF).
Since March 24, 2003, he has been the successor to Bernhard Nellessen as the moderator of the political magazine " Report Mainz ".
On March 16, 2011, he hosted the first TV duel in the history of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate between incumbent Kurt Beck ( SPD ) and Julia Klöckner ( CDU ) in the run-up to a state election on SWR television . The SWR UniTalk series of talks was also added in 2011 .
Since March 2020, Frey has been performing the ARD broadcast ARD Extra for Südwestrundfunk .
Frey is a member of the advice team of the SWR advice program I have a big name .
