Fritz Goßler

Fritz Goßler (born March 10, 1870 in Schwarzenbach an der Saale , † 1937 in Hof an der Saale ) was a German politician ( SPD / USPD ). He was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament (1919–1924).

Life

Goßler, the son of a stone worker, attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as a porcelain painter . After his apprenticeship, he went on a journey through Germany, Austria and Hungary. He then worked until he was a porcelain painter. Between 1901 and 1907 he was editor of the social democratic "Oberfränkische Volkszeitung" in Hof an der Saale. In September 1905 he took part in the SPD party convention in Jena . From 1907 to 1933 he worked as a full-time board member and director of the Upper Franconian cooperative weaving mill in Leupoldsgrün .

Goßler was a soldier in World War I and joined the Independent Social Democratic Party of Germany (USPD) in 1917. 1919/1920 he was a member of the district council of Upper Franconia and chairman of the district council of Hof. From January 1919 to April 1924 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament and served from July to November 1920 as Second Vice President of the Bavarian State Parliament. In the first electoral term (1919/20) he was also a member of the Civil Service Remuneration Committee and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. In the second electoral term (1920-1924) he was a member of the electoral examination committee and was deputy secretary. In November 1922 Goßler returned to the SPD. He was later chairman of the SPD in Leupoldsgrün and was a member of the SPD's council of elders.
