Fritz Hegenbart
Fritz Hegenbart (born September 15, 1864 in Salzburg , † October 29, 1943 in Bayerisch Gmain ) was an Austrian painter, graphic artist, etcher and sculptor.
Born as the son of a professor at the Prague Conservatory, originally trained as a musician, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1886, and at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Frank Kirchbach from 1888 .
Hegenbart spent some time in Frankfurt am Main , Salzburg , Paris and Dinkelsbühl , then settled in Munich, where he opened a painting school. He also taught at the Academy of Women Artists. From 1907 to 1910 he worked in Darmstadt, then returned to Munich.
Hegenbart was an employee of the " Jugend " and the " Fliegende Blätter ". From 1902 to 1912 he was a member of the " Hagenbund ". At the turn of the 1900s, his work was influenced by Art Nouveau .
