Knud Jørgensen (* 1928 ; † 1992 ) was a Danish jazz and entertainment musician ( piano , organ ).

Jørgensen played in Harry Arnold Orkester in the 1950s, and in 1964 with Rolf Billberg ( Darn That Dream ). From the 1960s he led his own formations, such as the Knud Jørgensen Jazz Trio, Knud Jørgensens Kvartett and the Knud Jørgensens Orkester. In 1961/62 he recorded his debut album Piano & Voices in Rhythm ( Metronome Records ) in Stockholm , on which Jimmy Woode (double bass) and Sture Kallin (drums) participated; the arrangements of jazz standards such as Cherokee , Exactly Like You , I Got Rhythm and Memories of You came from Georg Riedel . In 1961 he accompanied the singer Ella Fitzgerald (Mr. Paganini (You'll have to Swing it)) at a studio session in Copenhagen (with Jimmy Woode and William Schiöpffe ) .

Stylistically, Jørgensen moved between Bill Evans and Bud Powell . In the late 60s he also produced easy-listening productions such as the EP Glöm Ej Bort Det Finns Rosor (Polydor, with Göran Pettersson, Rolf Svensson, Rune Gustafsson ) and the LPs Beat on Hammond and What a Sound , before moving to Modern Jazz returned.
