Harry Arnold (born August 7, 1920 in Helsingborg , † February 11, 1971 in Vällingby ; real name Harry Arnold Persson ) was a Swedish tenor saxophonist , clarinet player and band leader of swing and modern jazz as well as a composer of film music.

Life

Harry Arnold studied clarinet, alto saxophone and arrangement. From 1942 to 1949 he led a small band that played in the Amiralen Club in Malmös Folkets Park . Then he went to Thore Ehrling as arranger and tenor saxophonist. In 1952 he put together his own formation again; In 1956 he founded a radio band with Swedish and foreign guest musicians. Arnold also emerged as a film music arranger and composer, working for Alice Babs and Ernestine Anderson . Harry Arnold's work also appeared under the pseudonyms "Dick Harris" and "Harry Persson". In Sweden he was also known for a version of the Christmas carol Jingle Bells under the title Bjällerklang .
