Fritz Hilgenberg

Fritz Hilgenberg (born April 24, 1924 in Münster ; † September 29, 2010 there ) was a German pediatric cardiologist.

Life

Hilgenberg studied medicine at the Philipps University and at the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf . In 1946 he became a member of the Corps Teutonia Marburg and in 1958 a corps bow bearer of the Palatia Strasbourg . After the state examination, he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD . He worked in Marburg , Essen and Hamm . Back in his hometown since 1953, he was an assistant in pathology and internal medicine at the Münster University Hospital . In 1957 he turned to pediatrics at the University Children's Hospital in Münster . In 1963 he completed his habilitation at the Westphalian Wilhelms University . In 1968 she appointed him associate professor and in 1969 head of the cardiology department of the children's clinic. From 1971 to 1973 dean and vice dean of the medical faculty, he was appointed to the chair of pediatric cardiology in 1974. In 1989 he retired.
