Fritz Hornschuch

Fritz Hornschuch (born September 10, 1874 in Fürth , † April 16, 1955 in Kulmbach ) was a German entrepreneur. He has received many awards for his entrepreneurial and social services, including a. as honorary senator of the University of Erlangen and as honorary citizen of five municipalities.

Life

Fritz Hornschuch was the son of the industrialist Heinrich Hornschuch (1838–1912) from his second marriage to Maria Johanna Ott. In 1900 he came to his father's spinning mill in Kulmbach, which he expanded into a large company with over 3000 employees. Hornschuch was honored with the title of Kommerzienrat during the German Empire . In 1922, he was from the Technical University of Stuttgart honorary with the Dr.-Ing. in 1926 he was made an honorary senator of the University of Erlangen . In 1922 he became an honorary citizen of Kulmbach, 1934 of Mainleus and Burghaig , 1938 of Wernstein and Veitlahm (both places today districts of Mainleus). In 1954 he was honored with the Great Cross of Merit with Star of the Federal Republic of Germany. Streets in Kulmbach, Burghaig and Fürth are named after him.
