Fritz Kühn (born October 11, 1883 in Iserlohn-Obergrüne , † August 3, 1968 in Iserlohn ) was a German author . He was a primary school teacher in Berchum and Hohenlimburg , and later a secondary school principal in Iserlohn. He was also organist and presbyter in the district of the Supreme City Church , head of the Haus der Heimat and the city archives in Iserlohn . His literary work included narrative research in Westphalia .

Kühn and National Socialism

Kühn was an opponent of the Weimar Republic and a member of corresponding associations from the start. He was enthusiastic about the war and glorified the “sacrificial death” of soldiers at the front.

In March 1933 Fritz Kühn received a seat on the city council for the black-white-red battle front and joined the NSDAP faction (together with the other city council of the battle front, the manufacturer Karl Klute). With an application dated September 8, 1937, Kühn became a member of the NSDAP on May 1, 1937 . In the course of denazification after the war, he was classified in category V by the Iserlohn Denazification Appointment Committee on July 2, 1948.

After the war, Kühn remained silent about the fate of the Jewish people from Iserlohn and about his role as a National Socialist. In 1963 he was still enthusiastic about the "brilliant leadership" of the Nazi mayor Hans Damrau and the "new spirit" of the 1930s.
