Fritz Killer
Fritz Killer (born November 30, 1905 in Vienna ; † April 26, 1983 ibid) was an Austrian composer .
Fritz Killer began studying piano at the age of eight . At the New Vienna Conservatory , he studied harmony, counterpoint, composition and instrumentation and completed the conducting class. He began with the composition of dance and light music, but then devoted himself permanently to the Wienerlied . As a pianist, he has been accompanying Wienerlied events for many years, primarily in his home district of Favoriten . Killer worked as a music arranger and composed more than 400 Viennese songs himself. After his death, a memorial plaque was placed on his home at 106 Favoritenstrasse .
