Fritz Klemke (born August 24, 1902 in Berlin ; † January 19, 1932 in Berlin ) was a worker and a victim of National Socialism . The Klemkestraße and Klemkepark in Berlin-Reinickendorf been designated as commemorate him. The trial against Fritz Klemke, among others, is one of the political scandals of the Weimar Republic .

Attack on the rock colony Felseneck

On January 15, 1932, Klemke became a member of the KPD . On the night of January 18-19, 1932, the " Felseneck " arbor colony in Wilhelmsruh was attacked by SA thugs . On January 18, 1932, a group of National Socialists marched out of Waidmannslust from a meeting on Schönholzer Weg to Berlin-Reinickendorf. The Felseneck colony was considered a “red colony” by the National Socialists because it was mainly inhabited by communists. Fritz Klemke was shot in the heart during the clashes on his property after he was beaten on the ground. SA man Ernst Schwarz died as a result of knife wounds in a hospital.

On April 20, 1932, the trial, which is also called the Felseneck trial, began. Only 5 of the 150 men who were involved in the attack were charged. However, 19 residents of the colony were charged against this. 15 of them were charged with manslaughter of SA man Schwarz and four with serious breach of the peace and illicit possession of weapons. The lawyer Hans Litten appeared as a defender on behalf of the Red Aid in the process. Although the facts of the murder had been recognized, the SA defendants fell under the Christmas amnesty on December 22, 1932 . A year later, Hans Litten was arrested. In 1938 Litten was murdered in Dachau. After 1933, the National Socialists reevaluated the attack as one of their heroic deeds.

Klemkestrasse was named after Klemke in 1947.
