Fritz May

Fritz May (born October 26, 1914 in Osthofen ; † September 9, 1993 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) was a German winemaker and politician ( NPD ).

Life

May attended elementary schools in Bous and Ottweiler and from 1924 the upper secondary school in Worms , where he graduated from high school in 1933 . From 1933 to 1935 he was employed by the security police in Darmstadt as a sergeant. After its dissolution, he reported to the SS disposal force in 1935 , which later became the Waffen SS .

From November 1, 1932 to October 16, 1933 and from September 24, 1935 (No. 81090) he was a member of the SS . Specifically, he became Standartenjunker on April 1, 1938, Untersturmführer on November 9, 1938, Obersturmführer on July 1, 1940, Hauptsturmführer on December 26, 1941 and Sturmbannführer on January 30, 1944 .

After the end of the Second World War he was interned until 1948. He then worked as a laborer, from 1950 to 1958 as an employee of the Schill winery in Osthofen and from 1958 as a self-employed winemaker.

politics

In 1933 May became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 1,507,543). From 1952 to 1956 he was a member of the FDP . From 1952 to 1960 he was a member of a free list in the Osthofen municipal council. In addition, he was second district deputy for the FDP in the district council of Worms .

In 1957 he joined the German Reich Party and from 1963 was the last state chairman of the German Reich Party before its dissolution. In 1964 he was one of the founders of the National Democratic Party of Germany and from 1965 to 1974 he was state chairman of the National Democratic Party of Rhineland-Palatinate.

In the state elections in 1967 he was elected to the sixth state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged until the end of the 1971 electoral term. In the state parliament he was group spokesman for his party.
