history

In 1804 the secondary school in Worms was founded. It started operations with 3 teachers, a director and 37 students in 3 classes. In 1903 the school was declared an upper secondary school and thus placed on an equal footing with the grammar school. At this time, the educational focus was also defined on the natural sciences. From 1906 until the opening of the girls ' high school, girls were allowed to attend classes as guest students. During the Second World War, the school was severely damaged and it was not until 1953 that lessons could be resumed in the actual school building. However, due to the steadily growing number of students, a new building was needed shortly afterwards. The school was located in the city's education center in 1977.
