Fritz Schaumann
Fritz Schaumann (born April 22, 1946 in Wallensen , Lower Saxony ; † March 3, 2017 there ) was a German politician and member of the state parliament ( FDP ).
Life and work
After attending school with the completion of secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a telecommunications craftsman. After passing the special examination for gifted students, he studied pedagogy at the Dortmund University of Education and psychology at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . Schaumann doctorate to Dr. paed. From 1972 to 1985 he was a research assistant at the University of Dortmund. From 1988 to 1998 he was State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Education and Science . From 1998 he was founding president of the private International University Bremen (since 2007: Jacobs University Bremen), of which he was president until 2006. From 2006 to the beginning of 2011 he was President of the Kunststiftung NRW .
Schaumann had been a member of the FDP since 1967. He was represented in numerous party committees, such as B. in the state board of the FDP. Since September 2003 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom . Since 1967 he was a member of the Education and Science Union .
MP
From May 30, 1985 to May 26, 1988, Schaumann was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected from his party's state list and left the state parliament during the tenth electoral term.
