Fritz von Keller

Friedrich "Fritz" von Keller (born September 9, 1850 in Mergentheim , † December 19, 1923 in Stuttgart ; born Friedrich Keller ) was a German forester and member of the Reichstag . From 1913 to 1920 he was President and Head of the Württemberg Forestry Directorate.

Life

Friedrich "Fritz" Keller attended the Blaubeuren seminar , the Hohenheim Agricultural Academy and the University of Tübingen . During his studies in 1870 he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity . He later worked as a second lieutenant in agriculture and later worked as a chief forester until 1887 . In February 1887 he was elected to the German Reichstag as a joint compromise candidate of the Reich Party and the National Liberals, to which he belonged for the constituency of Württemberg 12 ( Gerabronn , Künzelsau , Crailsheim , Mergentheim ). He won his mandate with 58.54 percent of the vote. He only joined the faction of the National Liberals as an intern. In the Reichstag, Keller participated in the committees for the support of relatives (11th commission) and in the 7th commission, which was responsible for the army in peace, petitions and conscription. He was a member of the Reichstag until 1890. He resigned his mandate in February 1887 when he became commander of the royal Württemberg forest and tax guard. In 1920 he retired as President of the Württemberg Forestry Directorate.

From 1900 until his death, Fritz von Keller was chairman of the Beautification Association in Stuttgart .

Fritz-Keller-Brünnele (2011)

In 1926, in Degerloch near the forest cemetery , the Fritz-von-Keller-Brunnen - also called Fritz-von-Keller-Brünnele, Fritz-Keller-Brunnen or Fritz-Keller-Brünnele - created by Professor Adolf Fremd was erected in memory of Fritz von Keller ( Directions ). After the fountain ran out of water because the spring dried up due to the development of the slope above the fountain, it was rededicated as a memorial stone.
