Fudge Tunnel was a British band that played sludge and post-hardcore from 1989 and split in 1995.

history

The band was formed in Nottingham , England by Alex Newport , David Riley and Adrian Parkin. After releasing two singles ( Fudge Tunnel in 1989 and The Sweet Sound of Excess in 1990) under Pigboy Records, they signed with Nottingham's Earache Records . Her debut album was Hate Songs in E Minor , which received a lot of press attention after the album cover was confiscated.

Two more albums followed: Creep Diets (1993) and The Complicated Futility of Ignorance (1994). There was also a collaboration between Max Cavalera ( Sepultura ) and Alex Newport under the name Nailbomb . They produced a studio album ( Point Blank ) and a live album, as well as a live DVD. The band broke up afterwards as intended.

After the third album was released, the trio broke up. David Riley ran his label BGR Records for a while. Adrian Parkin played with Tubesurfer until this band broke up in 1996. Alex Newport started a successful career as a producer / mixer and now lives in New York and runs his own studio there. He has produced albums for At the Drive-In , The Mars Volta , The Icarus Line, Ikara Colt and many others. He formed the band Theory of Ruin , which released an album ( Counter Culture Nosebleed ) and an EP ( Frontline Poster Child ), both on Escape Artist Records .
