Fujisaki Masato (diplomat)

Fujisaki Masato ( Japanese 藤 崎 萬里 ; * December 16, 1914 in Kagoshima Prefecture ; † October 6, 2006 ) was a Japanese diplomat .

During his diplomatic career, he was the Consul General of Japan in Seattle from 1960 to 1962 , the Japanese Ambassador to the Netherlands and from 1972 to 1976 the Japanese Ambassador to Thailand . He was a participant in the 1951 peace conference in San Francisco and was involved in the conclusion of the security treaty with the USA and the basic treaty with the Republic of Korea .

Fujisaki replaced Shimoda Takezo as judge at the Supreme Court of Japan in April 1977 and held this office until December 1984. He has now been replaced by Takashima Masuro .

His son Ichirō Fujisaki also embarked on a diplomatic career after a long teaching activity and has been the Japanese ambassador to the United States since 2008 . The politician Takeaki Matsumoto is the nephew of Fujisaki's wife Fusako.
