Furcraea boliviensis is a species of the genus Furcraea in the subfamily of the agave family (Agavoideae). The specific epithet boliviensis refers to the occurrence of the species in Bolivia .
description
Furcraea boliviensis forms 30 to 40 centimeters long and 10 to 15 centimeters wide, strong, sometimes prostrate stems. Their rosettes are - including the trunk - 90 to 100 centimeters long and 100 to 140 centimeters wide. The often spread out, sword-shaped, 45 to 55 (rarely more) thick leaves are stiff and only moderately runny. They are slightly narrowed towards their base. The leaves are dark ash green and 8 to 10 centimeters wide. Terminal spines are absent, but the sharp leaf tips are piercing. On the leaf margins there are small, clawed, rather closely spaced marginal teeth that are no longer than 3 millimeters.
Nothing is known about the inflorescence or the fruits and seeds .
Systematics and distribution
Furcraea boliviensis is widespread in the Bolivian province of Mizque on rocky slopes at altitudes of 2600 to 3500 meters. The species is not very common.
The first description by Pierfelice Ravenna was published in 1978.
