description

Furcraea guatemalensis grows with somewhat stem-forming rosettes . The (narrow) lanceolate to almost sword-shaped, moderately concave leaves are pointed. Their opaque green to gray, smooth or slightly roughened leaf blades are 130 to 200 centimeters long (rarely up to 225 centimeters) and 7 to 10 centimeters (rarely up to 15 centimeters) wide. At the top sits a sturdy, awl-shaped terminal mandrel, furrowed at the base . It is 2 millimeters long and 1 millimeter wide. The leaf margin is slightly curved outwards and straight between the projections. The (strongly) upwardly curved, 3 to 5 millimeters (rarely up to 7 millimeters) long peripheral teeth run down on somewhat fleshy elevations. They are red-brown, initially light at the base and later turn maroon. The peripheral teeth are 10 to 30 millimeters (rarely up to 45 millimeters) apart.

The egg-shaped-spherical bulbils bearing, bald, open inflorescence reaches a height of 2 to 5 meters. The bracts are much shorter flower stalks . The flowers are 40 to 45 millimeters long. Your oblong elliptical, light green or greenish whitish tepals are 20 millimeters long and 6 to 11 millimeters wide. The stamens are 10 to 12 millimeters long. The ovary has a length of 15 to 20 millimeters.

The spherical, diced, beaked fruits are stalked. They reach a length of 4 to 5 centimeters and a width of 3.5 to 4 centimeters. The fruits contain seeds 20 millimeters long and 12 to 20 millimeters wide .
