Géo Daly

Géo Daly (* 16th April 1923 in Bois-Colombes , † 1. June 1999 in Sète ) was a French jazz - vibraphonist and bandleader.

Daly became known in the second half of the 1940s for his collaborations with Bill Coleman , Michel de Villers , Bernard Peiffer , Don Byas , Benny Vasseur and Roger Paraboschi. In 1949 he played in Hubert Rostaing's orchestra and performed at the Paris Festival International 1949 de Jazz . In the early 1950s he played regularly at Club Rose Rouge with Michel De Villers, Alix Bret and Bernard Planchenault; from 1954 to 1957 he had an engagement in the Club Saint Germain . In 1954 he worked on Guy Lafitte's album Blue And Sentimentaland the Paris sessions of Peanuts Holland . In the second half of the 1950s and still into the 1960s, he performed with his own formation, mainly in Paris venues such as the Club des Champs Elysees , and in 1957 participated in the jam sessions organized by Hot Club de Paris . In 1958 he played in Claude Bolling's orchestra . In 1966/67 he recorded with Franco Manzecchi , Stéphane Grappelli , Dany Doriz and Bernard Lubat .
