Gérard Guse

Gérard Guse (born August 6, 1972 in Bochum ) is a German jazz musician (guitar, composition) who works in Spain.

Guse grew up in Barcelona; through his grandmother he came to the guitar. He trained as a jazz guitarist at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona and played with musicians from the Catalan scene such as Dani Domínguez, Salvador Toscano, Vicenç Solsona, Juan Pablo Balcázar and Matías Míguez. In 2005 he moved to Ibiza, where he performed with his own quartet. With the Kenyan singer and guitarist Deni Inyani he formed the world music group Na Lengo , which released the album Na Lengo-Ingoma on Ozella Music in 2016 . He is also active in the trio with Gina Schwarz and Ramón López . Under the title Allotropes , he released a debut album as a soloist on hipjazz in 2017, produced by Joachim Kühn , which received good reviews.
