Gérard Titus-Carmel (born October 10, 1942 in Paris ) is a French painter, poet, illustrator and engraver .

life and work

Titus-Carmel studied etching technology from 1958 to 1962 at the École Boulle in Paris. His first solo exhibition took place in 1964. During a joint workshop in Arcueil , Titus-Carmel worked with Antonio Seguí and Vladimir Veličković . Gérard Titus-Carmel lives and works in Oulchy-le-Château in the Aisne department in Picardy .

He illustrated books, initially by Jacques Dupin and Philippe Jaccottet , before publishing numerous books on art and poetry himself.
