The Góra Parkowa (German Herrleinberg , translated Parkberg) is a mountain in the south-west of Poland .
Location and surroundings
The Góra Parkowa is located about 55 km southwest of Wroclaw on the outskirts of the center of the city of Bielawa ( Langenbielau ) near Dzierżoniów ( Reichenbach im Eulengebirge ( Polish Góry Sowie , Czech Soví hory )) near the border between Poland and the Czech Republic . The mountain is 455 m high and there is a lookout tower called Wolfgang Tower and a ski lift. An existing still in the first half of the 20th century mountain cottage no longer exists.
geology
Like the entire Owl Mountains, Góra Parkowa is made of gneiss . It originated with this oldest part of the Sudeten mountains during the Hadaic era 4.5 billion years ago at a very early point in the history of the earth at the bottom of the global primeval ocean and increased in height due to volcanic activity. The current height was reached through erosion .
history
On August 16, 1762, the battle of Reichenbach took place on Herrleinberg and its surroundings . The places around Góra Parkowa were the scene of the Silesian Weavers' Uprising of 1844, which became particularly well-known in the period of Vormärz .
