Goran Ax
Göran Ax (born December 3, 1943 in Linköping ; † February 24, 2018 in Eslöv ) was a Swedish world glider champion , hunting pilot with the Swedish Air Force (J29, J35) and airline pilot with SAS Scandinavian Airlines . He practiced the sport of gliding since 1959.
Life
Ax was the representative for Sweden in the IGC and was an IGC bureau member . On August 19, 1998, there was an accident in which Ax was involved. During the starting process at the World Cup dress rehearsal in Bayreuth , he collided with his Slovenian sports colleague Jani Skedelj ; Skedelj was killed and Ax was able to make an emergency landing.
Act
In 1968 and 1993 he came second in the men's open class and in 1978 he took third place in the 15 m class.
