Gösselsdorf ( Slovenian Goselna vas ) is a village and a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Eberndorf in the Völkermarkt district in Carinthia ( Austria ). According to the 2001 census, it has 647 inhabitants.

The place is in the Jaunfeld at 469 m above sea level. A. The place is traversed by the Suchabach.
The village includes the Gösselsdorfer See , where the Gösselsdorfersee Volktriathlon is held every year in July .
history
Gösselsdorf was first mentioned in a document in the years 995-1005 and is therefore the oldest documented village in the Eberndorf community.
In fact, the town is separated into an eastern and western district by Seeberg Straße (B 82).
The eastern district can historically be viewed as the older district. The village church and village square are located here. The townscape is partly characterized by farmhouses.
The western district is the newer district. The sun camp and the Gösselsdorfer See are located here.
Sights and culture
Village church
The branch church of St. Antonius and Lambert , first mentioned in 1154, is a late Gothic building with partly Romanesque masonry in the nave as well as a baroque sacristy and tower.
Village square
The village square is in the eastern part of the village, below the village church. In the center is a fountain with a hand-carved wooden figure holding a man-sized fish in her hands.

Tradition and Customs
The custom of performing as Perchten in December and January , which is particularly widespread in the Alpine region , is also cultivated in Gösselsdorf. This tradition is upheld by the younger generation, among others. The 1st Gösselsdorfer Kinderperchtengruppe has existed for this purpose since 2008, which organized the first Kinderperchtenlauf in the same year and has been held every year since then.

Road connection
The place can be reached from the south motorway A2 exit Völkermarkt-West or exit Völkermarkt-Ost via the B 82 heading south.
At the entrance to the town on the B 82 there is a roundabout built in October 1999. The artistic and horticultural design took place in 2002. The metal sculpture, which is supposed to represent a rose, was designed by "Jaro-Design". Production was carried out by the Schippel locksmith's shop in Eberndorf.
Public transport
The bus line 5416 of the ÖBB-Postbus GmbH connects the place
- to the north with Kühnsdorf, from where there are train connections to Klagenfurt and Bleiburg and Völkermarkt
