Götz-Peter Lohmann

Götz-Peter Lohmann (born June 29, 1942 in Barby ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1998 to 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1960, Lohmann did his military service and began studying at the German University of Physical Culture in Leipzig in 1963 , which he completed in 1967 as a qualified sports teacher . He then worked as a trainer and sports teacher and also studied psychology at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig from 1970 to 1975 . He then worked as a qualified psychologist in the fields of clinical psychology and psychotherapy until he moved into the Bundestag .

Götz-Peter Lohmann is married and has three children.

politics

In October 1989, Lohmann joined the New Forum , which had been independent until then , but joined the SPD in February 1990. From 1990 to 1992 Lohmann was mayor of the city of Waren , then he was elected district council president of the Müritz district. He lost the mayor's office in 1992 because of admitted contacts with the former Stasi.

Lohmann moved in 1998 as directly selected delegates of the constituency Neubrandenburg - Altentreptow - Waren - Röbel and 2002 as directly selected delegates of the constituency Neubrandenburg - Mecklenburg-Strelitz - Uecker-Randow in the Bundestag one. In the 2005 Bundestag elections, he was unable to prevail against the CDU candidate Susanne Jaffke in the constituency and therefore left the Bundestag. In parliament he was the spokesman for the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional group and deputy spokesman for sports politics for the SPD parliamentary group. Lohmann was also a full member of the Health Committee and the Sports Committee.

AWO affair

Lohmann was chairman of the board of the Müritz district association of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt from 2006 to 2015 and received a salary that was not legally agreed. Lohmann subsequently resigned from his post. Together with the managing director Peter Olijnyk , who has been sentenced to repayment, he has been investigated for breach of trust since 2016 .
