The idol Puppenmanufaktur International GmbH is a German manufacturer of dolls and doll clothes. The headquarters of the doll factory is in Rödental in the Upper Franconian district of Coburg .

history

The company was founded in 1950 by Marianne and Franz Götz in Einberg . The first doll models were made by hand. In 1957, production began using rotary melting processes . From 1964 the artist dolls of the famous Swiss doll maker Sasha Morgenthaler were produced. In 1985 the company already had 150 employees. In 1987 the first branch was opened in Baldwinsville , New York, USA. From 1989 the doll series of the Swiss doll maker Sylvia Natterer and the German Carin Lossnitzer were produced.

In 1990 the factory opened in Budapest . At that time, Götz already had 350 employees. In 1994 the license extension for Sasha Morgenthaler dolls and the development of a specialty shop in Hungary took place . In 1997 Götz started manufacturing the doll fashion manufacturer Pampolina. In 1999 the 2nd generation of the Götz family took over the company. From 2000 the famous sandman was produced by Götz. In 2004, however, Götz Puppenmanufaktur GmbH in Rödental had to be liquidated after a sharp drop in sales and production in Germany ended.

In 2005 the cooperation with Margarete Steiff GmbH and the production of exclusive Steiff manufactory dolls begins . In 2009 Götz launched a limited Sandman Edition for the 50th birthday of “Our Sandman”, which became known as the “Sandman in Lappland”. In 2010 the Götz doll manufacture celebrated its 60th anniversary. The Götz artist dolls also include the doll series by Hildegard Günzel , Sissel Skille from Norway, Bettine Klemm and the series by the Dutch doll maker Didy Jacobsen . Each Götz manufactory doll receives a certificate and the Götz seal ribbon as a mark of quality.

Götz Puppenmanufaktur in the Einberg district is the larger toy manufacturer alongside Zapf Creation AG , which is still located in the same village, and the Fehn toy factory .

Trivia

The German Master School for Fashion - Design School Munich developed ideas for the conception and designs of clothing and accessories for Götz dolls. 16 of the best doll outfit designs were realized by Götz-Puppenmanufaktur.
