Güldenwerth is a residential area in the city of Remscheid in the Bergisches Land . Administratively, it belongs to the Reinshagen district in the Alt-Remscheid district and is located in the southwestern part of the city. The original town center is in the area of today's Hof Güldenwerth street .
history
Güldenwerth was first mentioned in 1369 ( Guddelwerde ), it was mentioned in 1487 ( Gudewerde ), 1513 ( Güldenwerde ), 1560 ( Gülwerde ), 1639 ( Guldenwerth ) and 1668 ( Gulwerth ).
In a lifting list (1560) Güldenwerth was one of the courtships that had to pay the Johanniterhafer and the Burghafer . The Johanniter oat was given to the Order of St. John, who was patron saint of the Remscheid Church until the time of Napoleon I. The Burghafer was collected by the tenant of the Stachelhauser Hof and passed on to the Burger Kommende .
The farm has always been considered particularly profitable, because the name contains a value designation: A farm that was worth many guilders .
Infrastructure
The main street train (Reinshagener Straße) runs as the L 154 on the ridge and meets the B 229 in Remscheid-Vieringhausen .
The VRR operates the bus routes 654, 658, NE 13 and NE 18. The Remscheid-Güldenwerth station on the Wuppertal-Oberbarmen-Solingen railway line , which has a Park & Ride facility, is served by the S-Bahn line S 7 Der Müngstener of the S -Bahn Rhein-Ruhr served.
