Güneli ( Kurmanji : Geliyê Sora or Geli Sora ) is a jesidisches village in the southeast of Turkey . The village is located about 30 km northeast of Nusaybin in the Nusaybin district of the same name in the Mardin province . The place is located in the Tur Abdin mountain range in south-eastern Anatolia .

Güneli (Geliyê Sora) is approx. 4 km northwest of Çilesiz (Mezrê) and approx. 3.5 km northwest of Mağaracık (Xanik). The Yezidi cemetery Goristana Hesen Begê is located southeast of the village in about 2.5 km away.

History and population

The original name of the village is Geliyê Sora (also Geli Sora). The villages were renamed as a result of the Turkishization of geographical names in Turkey .
