Güngör Yilmaz (born January 15, 1961 in Trabzon , Turkey ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Hamburg Parliament since 2015 .

Live and act

Yilmaz first grew up in Istanbul and came to Germany with her family in 1973. After graduating from high school, she studied economics at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a diploma. She works as a research assistant in the waste management department of the Office for Environmental Protection of the Hamburg Authority for Urban Development and Environment .

2014 Yilmaz was as representative of the SPD in the District Assembly Bergedorf selected. There she sits on the culture committee, the building committee and the committee for economy, labor and consumer protection. In the 2015 state elections, Yilmaz ran for position 43 on the SPD state list and was elected with 4962 personal votes. Since March 2015 she has been a member of the 21st Hamburg Parliament . There she is a member of the Submissions Committee and the Committee on Sports and Olympics.

On February 23, 2020, Yilmaz again succeeded in entering the Hamburg parliament .

Yilmaz lives with her family in the Bergedorf district of Nettelnburg . Her husband Hüseyin Yilmaz is a former employee of the German Trade Union Confederation and was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit in 2014 for his commitment to integration . They have two grown children.
