Günter Burmeister

Günter Burmeister (* 1960 in Lintelermarsch ) is a German lawyer . He is a judge at the Federal Administrative Court .

Life

Following his legal training, Burmeister worked from 1988 to 1991 as a research assistant and academic advisor at the chair for public law and administrative sciences at the University of Bayreuth , Walter Schmitt Glaeser . In 1991 he was charged with the investigation of origin, content and position of the institutional legal proviso: as a contribution to the doctrine of administrative organization law of the later judge at the Federal Constitutional Court Udo Steiner Dr. jur. PhD. From May 1991 to April 1992 Burmeister worked for the district government of Hanover . He was then assigned to the Administrative Court in Oldenburg , where he was appointed as a judge at the Administrative Court. Burmeister was seconded to the Lower Saxony Ministry of Justice (1994/95 and from 2004) and to the Federal Constitutional Court (2000/01). In December 2004 Burmeister was appointed judge at the Lower Saxony Higher Administrative Court, but was still seconded to the Ministry of Justice as head of department for public law and European law and as a representative in the legal committee of the Federal Council .

Burmeister has been a judge at the Federal Administrative Court since June 2008 and has also been a deputy member of the Lower Saxony State Court since December 2017. After working in the 2nd Revision Senate of the Federal Administrative Court, which is responsible, among other things, for public service law, he acts as the deputy chairman of the 2nd Military Service Senate and as a member of the specialist senate that decides on official refusals to provide information. He also gives lectures on public law at the Technical University of Braunschweig . In May 2015 he was appointed honorary professor by her. Since July 2015 he has been a member of the Lower Saxony Judicial Examination Office for the 2nd state examination in law.

Numerous publications, including reviews, especially in the Lower Saxony administrative papers, of which he is a member of the editorial board as well as the advisory board of the online magazine Publicus .
