Günter Christoph

Günter Christoph (born March 27, 1933 in Pethau near Zittau ; † January 24, 2019 in Zittau) was a German politician ( SED ) and innovator . He was a member of the State Council of the GDR .

Life

Christopher, son of a baker , learned after the elementary school also the baker. From 1952 he worked in the metalworking industry as a coil winder at VEB Federnwerk Zittau. In 1958 he became a member of the SED. From May 1959 to 1967 he was a member of the Central Council of the FDJ . From September 1960 to November 1963 he was a member of the State Council.

He played a major role in the introduction of the “Mamai Method” in the GDR (later named “Christoph Method” after him), which consisted of the breakdown of the plan by workplace and day based on the example of the Soviet innovator Nikolai Yakovlevich Mamai . All employees should be persuaded to fulfill their plan on a daily basis on the basis of the plan broken down into the workplace or to exceed it by a certain amount.
