Günter Frank (philosopher)

Günter Frank (born September 15, 1956 in Arnstadt ) is a German philosopher .

Life

He studied theology , psychology and philosophy in Warsaw , Erfurt and Vallendar . From 1986 to 1991 he was an assistant at the philosophical chair of the Philosophical-Theological Studies in Erfurt. After completing his doctorate in 1994 at the Pontifical Gregorian University , he was a Fellow at the University of Chicago from 1993 to 1995. Further research stays took him to the Herzog August Library in Wolfenbüttel and the Warburg Institute of the University of London . He had research grants from the German Academic Exchange Service ( DAAD ) and the German Research Foundation. Since 1997 he has been a lecturer and since 2001 private lecturer in philosophy at the Free University of Berlin , since 1998 curator of the Melanchthonhaus (Bretten) , since 2004 director of the European Melanchthon Academy in Bretten and since 2016 an adjunct professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology .
