Gunter Gerlach (born December 27, 1941 in Leipzig ) is a German writer ; Author of radio plays , radio series, short prose, crime thrillers and novels .

Life

Gunter Gerlach is a trained electrical mechanic. He completed an apprenticeship at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1961 to 1967 . In 1965 he founded with Dieter Glasmacher and Werner Nöfer, among others. the artist group Cruizin for-Syndikat für Kunstbetrieb , from 1980 to 1983 the Hamburg artist group E & A and from 1986 the author group PENG . In 1999 he was one of the signatories of the literary manifesto Hamburger Dogma . He lives in Hamburg.

Gunter Gerlach is primarily active as an artist in the areas of performance and visual poetry . Among other things, he set a world record in continuous painting. Since the 1980s he has mainly been writing prose. After surrealist beginnings, he switched to writing crime novels in the 1990s . In 2011 Gerlach received a residency grant from the artist residence Chretzeturm , Stein am Rhein .

Gunter Gerlach is a member of the Association of German Writers and the authors' association Das Syndikat .
