Günter Niederbremer
Günter Niederbremer (born December 9, 1946 in Quellendorf , Province of Saxony-Anhalt ; † September 20, 2012 in Bremen ) was a politician ( CDU ) and was a member of Bremen's citizenship and state councilor .
biography
education and profession
Niederbremer trained as an automotive electrician from 1962 to 1965. He then worked at the VW plant in Wolfsburg and at Siemens in Braunschweig. In the years 1970 to 1974 he completed a degree in electrical engineering. From 1976 worked as a research assistant for the CDU parliamentary group in Bremen. In 1984 he was employed by the Siemens branch in Bremen.
politics
Niederbremer had been a member of the CDU since 1965. In the 1970s he was AStA chairman of the Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel University of Applied Sciences and chairman of the Junge Union in the Braunschweig regional association and councilor in the city of Braunschweig. From 1988 to 1992 he was chairman of the CDU district association Bremen-Mitte and Bremen-Stadt. He was a member of the advisory board of the Walle district for the CDU Bremen from 1979 to 1983 . He was also a member of the local political association of the CDU and CSU in Germany (KPV) and was active in the Christian Democratic Workforce (CDA).
From 1983 to 1995 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship for 12 years and worked in various deputations and committees of the citizenship with a focus on environmental protection and finance. He was deputy chairman from 1983 to 1987 of the committee for the inclusion of environmental protection in the state constitution and from 1989 to 1991 of the committee for energy policy. From 1991 to 1995 he was deputy chairman of the investigative committee of the citizenship of the Bremen municipal utilities .
From 1995 to 1998 he was Bremen State Councilor for European Affairs with Senators Hartmut Perschau (CDU) and Josef Hattig (CDU). In 1998 he was put into temporary retirement because he had employed two Polish illegal workers for facade work in his house.
Others
Niederbremer was married and had four children. He was a member of IG Metall . In 1983 he and other parents founded the Bremer Kinder- und Jugendfreizeit eV association whose aim is to provide affordable vacation trips for children and young people. In addition to the summer holidays, which were mostly spent on the Windberg youth campground in Werpeloh , the association also organized other holiday activities for years, such as baking together and going to the cinema. He led the association as chairman until 2004.
