Günter Schulte

Günter Schulte (born November 21, 1937 in Cologne ; died April 26, 2017 ) was a German philosophical writer , painter and sculptor .

Schulte studied philosophy , mathematics and physics . After the state examination , he received his doctorate in 1964 with a thesis on Friedrich Nietzsche . He completed his habilitation in 1970 through Johann Gottlieb Fichte .

He worked as a teacher at a municipal high school , later as a lecturer at the University of Art in Cologne. Since 1971 Günter Schulte was Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cologne .

He worked as a painter , sculptor and publicist .

His grave is located in Cologne's south cemetery (hall 27 no. 396).

Honors

There is a portrait of him on the central pillars in the Appellhofplatz subway station (Cologne). Famous "Cologne heads" were immortalized there as part of an art campaign.
