Günter Siegel
Günter Siegel (born June 3, 1937 in Koethen , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a former German athletics trainer of the SC Chemie Halle in the GDR . He trained among others Wolfgang Hanisch , who at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow , the bronze medal in the javelin won. After reunification , he worked as a trainer at SV Halle and at Cöthener FC Germania 03 .
During his sports and history studies at DHfK Leipzig , he was an active athlete and was three times GDR champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay race , his personal best in the 100 meter run is 10.6 seconds.
For his services to sport and his voluntary work in Saxony-Anhalt, he received the gold badge of honor from the Athletics Association of Saxony-Anhalt on November 28, 2015 .
Günter Siegel lives in Köthen, is married and has two daughters.
