Günther Chrzanowski

Günther Chrzanowski (born March 23, 1950 ) is a former German automobile racing driver and owner of the Chrzanowski Racing Team.

Career

Racing driver

Günther Chrzanowski started his racing career in 1974 in the German Automobile Round Trip Cup (DARM).

With his 911 ST he was able to place himself in the front midfield. He was also involved in the Euro GT, where he achieved his best result with 2nd place in Zolder .

In 1975 he moved his new racing car, a Tebernum Porsche 911 3.0 RSR, to the first division of the German Racing Championship (DRM). In the first part of the season, he still drove in the Tebernum design, and later in Carrera white. With the 6th place he was able to assert himself behind Harald Grohs in Mainz-Finthen.

In Zolder he won in 1975 with his RSR ahead of Franz Konrad and Eberhard Sindel . At the 1975 Junior Trophy in Zandvoort, he was able to leave Hans Halfmann (on RSR) behind and take the overall victory.

From 1980 to 2006 he won over 111 overall victories in various Porsche series such as Porsche Club, GTP, BPR and others. Günther Chrzanowski is also a multiple German Porsche long-distance champion in various classes.

Team boss

Chrzanowski was also able to assert himself as a team in the motorsport world. This includes the 6th place in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 1991. Bernd Mayländer was used as the driver . The Chrzanowski vehicle was the green Derkum Kümmerling Porsche 964 CUP with which Olaf Manthey became the first champion in the Carrera Cup in 1990. At the Daytona 24H in 1991, he was able to win overall victory in the GTU class as a team with a Porsche 964 RSR. The drivers were Lilian Bryner and Enzo Calderari . His close friends include Jürgen Kannacher and Edgar Dören, who died in 2004 .

He has been working in his Porsche company, which he founded in 1973, since 2006. Chrzanowski Racing has been successfully supporting the Clickvers Porsche in the VLN series and in the 24H series since 2015. Regular drivers are Kersten Jodexnis , Robin Chrzanowski and 2019 Christopher Brück.
