Günther Gerth

Günther Gerth (born December 4, 1931 in Alt-Drewitz near Küstrin ) is a German painter and graphic artist.

Life

Günther Gerth attended elementary school from 1938 to 1946 and then worked in agriculture until 1948 . From 1948 to 1951 a painting teacher in Joachimsthal joined. Until 1954 he worked as a painter's journeyman in Berlin . From 1954 to 1957 he studied at the Berlin School of Applied Arts in the Potsdam branch in the Department of Decorative Painting. From 1957 to 1964 he worked as a color designer in the VEB Expansion Magdeburg. From 1964 to 1969 he worked as a commercial artist in the VEB Baureparaturen Magdeburg, advertising construction department.

From 1968 he was a candidate and later a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR , from 1969 he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in Magdeburg . He lives and works in the Magdeburg district of Fermersleben .
