Günther Probszt

Günther Probszt , until 1918 Günther Freiherr Probszt von Ohstorff (born October 30, 1887 in Graz , † July 23, 1973 in Vienna ) was a German numismatist and private scholar.

Life

He was born as the son of the later Imperial-Royal General of the Infantry and Privy Councilor Emil Freiherr Probszt von Ohstorff . After visiting the university, he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and worked as a private scholar and professor in Graz. His research area was numismatics in Graz and Austria, about which he published several times, including in particular Carinthiaca. From 1960 he was editor of the Numismatic Literature of Eastern Europe and the Balkans , which was published in Graz by the Academic Printing and Publishing Company. In addition, Günther Probszt researched and published on the history, economic, family and art history of Austria.
