Günther Ramsauer (born February 18, 1949 in Edenkoben ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Education, work and family

After training at BASF as a chemical laboratory assistant, Ramsauer obtained his Abitur in 1972 on a second educational path. He then studied at the University of Education in Worms and Landau in the Palatinate . From 1977 to 1991 he worked as a teacher in Speyer , Kaiserslautern , Ludwigshafen am Rhein and Frankenthal (Palatinate) , most recently as rector at a secondary school.

Ramsauer is married and has one child.

politics

In the 60s and 70s Ramsauer was involved in the Protestant youth and was chairman of the Ludwigshafen youth association . In 1969 he joined the SPD. In 1979 he was elected to the city ​​council of Ludwigshafen am Rhein, of which he was a member until 1991. From 1991 to 2001 he was an alderman and department head for schools and culture in the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein. From 1996 to 2006 he was chairman of the SPD Ludwigshafen. Since 1999 he has been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Palatinate District Assembly. From 2006 to 2014 he was treasurer of the regional association. In 2001 he became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament for constituency 36 Ludwigshafen am Rhein II . Since 2006, Ramsauer was deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. There he was responsible for budget, finance, economic and social policy. He was also a member of the Legal Committee. In December 2014 he left the state parliament.
